Plant Extract

Acanthopanax senticosus extract is a natural product extracted from the dried roots and rhizomes of Acanthopanax senticosus, a plant in the Araliaceae family. Its main active components are Acanthopanax senticosus saponins B, E, etc. Acanthopanax senticosus is mainly distributed in China, North Korea, Japan, and other places, and is one of the characteristic medicinal materials in northern China.

Classification of active components

1. Acanthopanax senticosus saponins: Eleutheroside A, B, B1, C, D, E, F, G. Eleutheroside A is daucosterol, a steroidal saponin; Eleutheroside B is syringin, a phenolic saponin; Eleutheroside B1 is isofraxidin glucoside, a coumarin saponin; Eleutheroside E is syringaresinol diglucoside, and Eleutheroside D is an isomer of Eleutheroside E, both being lignan saponins. The content ratio of Eleutheroside A, B, C, D, E, F, G is approximately 8:30:10:12:4:2:1.

2. Compounds isolated from the stems and leaves of Acanthopanax senticosus include isofraxidin (7-hydroxy-6,8-dimethoxy coumarin), 4,4'-dihydroxy-3,3'-dimethoxy stilbene, feruloylsucrose, neociwu-jiaphenol, ciwujiatone, etc. The leaves contain Eleutheroside I, K, M, L, and Senticoside A, B, C, D, E, F, all with oleanolic acid as their aglycones, and also contain hyperoside.

3. Polysaccharides: Acanthopanax senticosus polysaccharides (ASPS) are composed of glucose, fructose, arabinose, etc., and also contain sucrose and other polysaccharides.

4. Other components: Vitamin C, E, l-sesamin, friedelin, betulinic acid, volatile oil, etc.

Acanthopanax senticosus extract has a wide range of applications in the fields of medicine, health care products, cosmetics, and more. In the medical field, it is used to prepare traditional Chinese medicines such as Acanthopanax senticosus tablets, capsules, and granules, mainly for treating symptoms caused by spleen and kidney yang deficiency, such as physical fatigue, poor appetite, soreness and pain in the waist and knees, insomnia, and frequent dreaming.
